1. Warm Up: Complete on the same warm up sheet!! (Mrs. Amerling will collect today)
   1. Theme: (use your notes from Tuesday)
   • What is a theme?
   • What is an implicit theme?
   • What is an explicit theme?
     • (Give students 5- 10 minutes to answer the warm up silently, on their own, then share out : )
2. "Carry Your Own Skis" Theme Practice in pairs
   • Read directions over with students, then let them work in pairs to complete.
   • Review answers. (Call on students to share on Elmo : )
3. Identifying Theme- More Practice!
   • Review instructions, then let students work together to identify theme.
4. Understanding Direct Theme with Fables (If time)
